Nursing school...it's almost over

Obviously, I haven't posted in a hot minute. That's because I have been working quite a bit...doing my preceptorship in the ICU at UTMB. I'm really loving it.

My preceptor is awesome. I am learning so much every day, and while I am not able to be totally independent because I can't log in to the computer to chart or access patient's files or get into the Pyxis on my own, I know I can do it when the time comes. The process is the same each time.

The countdown is on. I have completed my degree audit, applied for graduation and my degree, ordered and received my honors graduation regalia, filed for my RN license with the Board of Nursing, filed to take my licensure exam, and passed the jurisprudence exam. The only thing that is standing between me and pinning/graduation is 67 days, 16 more ICU shifts, 2 care plans, a presentation, and mock interviews. I can't believe it's almost time!

Everyone at work has been asking me what I am doing, what my plans are, when I am going to start working and where and I am honestly not certain. I am thinking about taking the summer off and then starting to look for a job in the fall. Who knows. I am just not ready to make a decision yet.

My goal right now....graduate. Just graduate.
