Happy 7th Birthday to my baby boy!

7 years ago, I delivered the most precocious, good-hearted, ray of sunshine...Jansen!

This child has truly been a delight and a joy to our family. And even though we have already had his party, we still wanted to do a bit of special decorating at home to celebrate HIS day.

So today, we decorated the mantle with a banner, some streamers, balloons, candy, and pinwheels....

We must be glutton for punishment with buying him a little drum set, but he is constantly drumming on EVERYTHING! He sings, he dances, he plays air guitar, and drums all day long. We figured, why not steer that in a more productive and appropriate direction.

I also purchased some ear plugs....just for our sanity.

He chose to eat lunch at Fuddruckers...

And spend some fun time with family.

Where has the time gone? He is 7 going on 17!!!!! Happy Birthday to my love, Jansen!!!!

Jumbo popsicles

It's hot here on the Texas Gulf Coast, and it's only May. I can't imagine how July and August will feel!

Today, to help combat the heat, we made jumbo popsicles.

Here is what you will need:

We used drink mix, water, plastic containers, dowel rods, and plastic wrap.

Mix up the drink mix in a pitcher and pour into heavy plastic containers. Cover the top in plastic wrap and stick a dowel through it and into the juice.

Freeze

Done!

I had one happy kiddo when I pulled these out of the freezer!

Holy Mighty Eagles Batman...

Last week, my husband got an unusual phone call from our credit card's fraud prevention, inquiring about an iTunes charge. I had purchased a few songs to add to our school's slide show presentation, but nothing that would have alerted fraud prevention.

Then he got THE EMAIL. It turns out that he was being charged $140 for the purchase of some in-app Mighty Eagles. How many Mighty Eagles? $21 worth....7 times!!!!!

Our son had purchased over $140 worth of Mighty Eagles, which is over 9,000 of them!!!! He couldn't us 9,000 Mighty Eagles if his life depended on it!

Holy Cannoli Roly Poly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So we made a great little list of chores and money values. He is able to pick and choose what he would like to do to add up to $140 worth of activities. He is beginning with the household laundry.....

He is all smiles now, because he is only on his first load. Just wait until next week when he was still sorting and folding!

End of School!!!!

Well, here it is. It's the last day of school. What a whirlwind year it has been! My first year as PTO President has been so busy and so fulfilling. I absolutely love helping at the school. No matter what kind of pressure it is, it's worth it to see those kids' smiling faces and hopefully smiling teachers!
