More Lego party sneak peeks....

Lego party in T minus 17 days. AGH!!!!!

I can't even believe how fast this school year has gone, that I am looking smack dab at the last two weeks and then a party the day after. We aren't really expecting a ton of children, although we are inviting all 17 of the kids in his class, because it is the day after the last day of school and a holiday weekend. I am sure that families are just itching to get the heck out of town and start their vacations. But in case there are a lot of kids, we are ready!

Invites went out today, I finished Jansen's name in Mega Blocks, and started to set up my sofa table with the first game to make sure we have everything.

So here is a sneak peek of a few of the projects I have been working on. Can't wait to see it all come
together!!!!!

Bathroom artwork

Our bathroom is slowly taking shape. We are at the point where we are just looking for accents because tearing out the bath and shower are just not an option right now. We still need rugs and a few accents for the tub and vanity.

We have this towel bar over our tub that is really just too high. Instead of taking it down, patching the holes, and rehanging it....let's make the best of it.

Hang a picture frame, add some felt rosettes, and hang some pretty necklaces.....job done!

Mother's Day goodies...

May is a crazy month. My birthday is always right around Mother's Day AND our anniversary is just a few days later. So I get to celebrate 3 times!!!

The hubs really outdid himself this year. It is our 10 year anniversary next week and we are going on a weekend trip to L'Auberge du Lac, so I asked if I could get some new clothes. Josh told me to go have fun and some friends and I had a birthday party at Maurice's.

Ohmygosh. Nothing like a party there. They close the store, invite you and your friends, give you goodie bags with discounts, and their stylists pamper you and style you. How cool is that??? I have NEVER been to a store and just shopped without looking at the price tag of anything, so this was so super cool.
I had a blast.
So, here is what I got: 2 dresses, 2 camis, 4 blouses, 2 pairs of shoes, 4 pairs of earrings, a bracelet, 2 necklaces, a lip gloss, and a bottle of perfume. YES!!!!!

The Versatile Blogger Award....

HEY!!!

Kindra from Garden of Eden sweetly awarded me....

The Versatile Blogger Award!!!!

How cool is that??!!! Thank you very much...you made my day.

If you haven't checked out her blog, you have to RIGHT NOW! She has tons of great inspirations and tutorials for crafts and recipes. You name it, it's on her blog.

In the spirit of giving, I am so ready to share the love with some other bloggers as well. So here are the rules:

1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them
2. Tell your readers 7 things that they don't know about you
3. Award 10 other bloggers
4. Contact the bloggers about their awards

Super easy right?! Here are 7 things you might not know about me

1. I fall asleep during almost every movie we watch, even if it is really interesting. Who knows why!

2. When I was younger, I wanted to be a nurse, a writer, a journalist, Smurfette, a vet, She-Ra Princess of Power, a cardiologist, a stay at home mom, and a corporate attorney.

3. Both of my children are birth control babies...different forms. God must have really wanted these boys with us.

4. My favorite foods are cereal, meatloaf, and chicken pot pie.

5. My parents were really overprotective when I was growing up and I was only allowed to listen to music from their generation. So now I know almost every song from the 50's to now.

6. Sometimes I wish I could sew, but I don't have the patience or the desire to sit down and learn.

7. When I drive, I blare my music. My husband always gripes at me when he gets in my car and worries that I will lose my hearing. Thanks for the concern, babe!

So that was easy right???!!! And now, I get to share the love and award 10 other fantabulous bloggers....

A delicious Mother's Day....

Ok, so Mom, if you are reading this...look the other way. Leave the page. Close the browser. Don't read this post...yet. Can you please just wait 3 more days?

So now that the disclaimer is done....guess what I got my mother and mother in law for Mother's Day. Here is a hint.....

It's edible!

Don't know what it is? Well here is another hint....

It's made with a woman's best friend "chocolate".

Give up?????

It is a hand dipped apple made by my friend Elise Haagensen of Dandy Eats. She doesn't have a webpage, but she has an awesome facebook page that you can find right HERE.

Seriously, I tried a sample of this flavor about a week ago, and was in beautiful, sweet love. I bought one for the mom, the mother in law, and another one for my greedy self!!! The flavor: Apple Pie a la Mode.

Yes, you read that right. Apple Pie a la Mode. YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Here are a few examples of her FABULOUS cakes....

Check her out! She is incredible!!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mothers out there!!!!

Updated Bulletin board...

My oldest son had this plain bulletin in his room for about 3 years now. We got it free off of Freecycle and it had a little bit of damage. The trim was warped a bit and there are spots of puffy water damage on the cork itself. It's not a big deal because most of the cork will be covered with pictures or certificates so you won't even see it.

It needed updating. I thought about covering it with fabric, and decided against it. I don't have any left over fabric and I didn't want to spend any money on this project.

After seeing THIS @ Searching Out Simple, I was reminded of my passion for argyle. There must be 15 pairs of argyle socks in my drawer. (Ok, so I have a little thing for socks...) Seriously, how cute is that shirt she made???!!!

We have 2 cans of paint left that I thought would be perfect for this project....Betsy Ross House Brown from our bathroom cabinets, and Garden of Paradise from our laundry room. I painted the trim brown, and then began stenciling in my diamond pattern.
After letting it dry over night, I took a black marker and drew in all the little dashes.
Once I hung it on the wall....
...it was time to start added all the boy's favorite keepsakes. He picked what he wanted and I stuck them all on there.
Just a quick and free update to give that boring bulletin board a little more personality.
