Disney Cruise Day 2

Day #2 of the Disney Cruise arrived very early in the morning with a gentle sway of the boat and a crick in my neck.

We went down to the dining room for a very important character breakfast.

This was highly entertaining for my kids. The servers made us all napkin hats (mom a bow, Jansen a Peter Pan hat, Caleb a goofy hat, and dad didn't get one for some reason)...

and each character came to the table to take photos with our family.

Jansen was loving the Mickey waffles and wanted to order them every day....

Caleb seriously ordered chocolate donuts at each breakfast.

The boys loved the Lab so much, that they chose to head back to join the rest of the kids in the Mickey Mania Quiz Challenge, and the hubs and I went to our first game of BINGO!!! BINGO!!!! BINGO!!!!

No, we didn't win, but it sure was fun playing!

After our fantastic losing streak in bingo, we picked up the kids to hit the pool. The kids were loving the Mickey and Goofy pools....

and I was enjoying my time relaxing in the shade with my tunes and trashy magazines....

and then watching The Little Mermaid on the deck.

After coming back and checking out the Navigator, the boys decided to go to the club for the cooking classes and video game competition, and I snuck away to start delivering the Fish Extender gifts we brought for the others in our group. I was able to take one picture of a family's door...and then I realized how long it was taking for me to go all over the ship to deliver, so I just filled and ran.

The hubs and I got away for an adults only dinner at Palo. It is the only restaurant on the ship that is not included in the price of the cruise.

Oh my gosh, this was so worth it! It was a grand total of $40 for all of this....

Our server, Alvin was from the Philippines and was amazingly wonderful. Everything was so perfect that we decided to make reservations for an additional night at Palo.

How gorgeous was our view from the table of this amazing sunset over cobalt blue waters?

The club paged us that Caleb was ready to come back to the room to go to sleep, so we picked him up and left Jansen there ( he was just having too much fun). Caleb was so excited to see the next towel animal on our bed when we arrived back.

The hubs went out to explore more of the ship while Caleb and I stayed in the room and watched movies. When Jansen was ready to come back, we came back to the our fish extender full of presents! How fun!!!

Stay tuned for Day #3!

Disney Cruise Day 1

We are back!!!!

Because this was a week long trip and because I took a bajillion pictures, I am going to break my posts up into daily posts. We have been without internet service all week, and while it was easy to disconnect last weekend, I have found it to be difficult to reconnect today. Pardon me as my brain continues to sway along with my body as I sit on the couch and type.

Friday, we boarded the Disney Magic in Galveston, TX. We began the day with Mickey Face Pancakes and a ton of luggage. We arrived at the port around 11, and due to a computer outage, we did not board until a bit after 1pm. But nothing was going to ruin my blissful mood, for we were on vacation. A vacation that was on my bucket list!

As we walked onto the ship, the cast members announced our arrival, "Ladies and Gentlemen, the Powell Family have arrived on the Disney Magic."

The ship's decor is very art deco with hidden Mickeys everywhere...but on a much more "mature" scale.

The boys were anxious to explore the ship, which was perfect because our rooms were not quite ready, and nothing was really open. We located the restaurants, the theaters, the kids' clubs, our room, the shops, the snack bars, the ice cream station, the pools...all the highlights.

Fortunately the buffet opened quickly and we scarfed down a quick lunch and then ran around the ship.

When our room was ready, we ran in to unload all of our luggage. My goal was to unpack and organize first, and then let my hair down and vacation after that. We took tons of pictures of the kids experiencing their first cruise stateroom. They were thrilled, and honestly, the hubs and I were very happy with the amount of space in the room.

I just had to put up all of the magnets and door decor I had made. That was what made our stateroom our home away from home for the week. We hung our Fish Extender and got our gifts ready to be delivered to the other members of our group

Later that evening, we attended the deck party, took the kids to the Oceaneer Lab to play, and went out for a little bit of adult fun. We had our own relaxing dinner and checked out the fun in Rockin' Bar D.

By the time we picked up the kids that night, they were out like a light in less than 5 minutes. Our stateroom was blissfully clean, organized, supplied with chocolates and warm cookies, and we had highlighted the activities we didn't want a miss on Day 2.

Cookie time, sleepy time, vacation time!

Mickey Mouse Breakfast

As we are packing this morning to leave on our Disney Cruise, I thought I would begin the magical vacation with a little Mickey Mouse pancake breakfast.

The kids were surprised when they came in to sit down, especially since they requested peanut butter toast. BORING!

T minus 3 hours until we roll out of here and head to Galveston. Come sail away, come sail away, come sail away with me!

Minnie Mouse nails

We set sail tomorrow, so today I went to get my nails done for the cruise.

I am loving the Shellac!!! Minnie Mouse to the max!

As for my toes, I wanted Mickey Mouse. Something with a bit of glitter but not too crazy.

Two hours later, I was super happy with the results!

Packing is almost done, the house is pretty clean, the kids are super excited, and we are ready to get the heck outta town. Let's go on vacation shall we?!

Fish Extender gifts for adults, teens, and kids

YESSSSSSSSS! (said in my absolute coolest Napoleon Dynamite voice)

Our Fish Extender gifts are finished.

Our cruise group consists of 8 families, ranging from only adults, to adults with small kids, to adults with teens. In order to make sure everyone got something, we decided to  make adult gifts, teen gifts, and kid gifts.

Here is how everything turned out:

I had tons of cello bags left over and for the toppers, I just created my own using card stock and punches.

The adults are getting personalized cruise magnets:

The Mickey life rings were a download from etsy and I just printed them on magnetic paper.

The teens are getting LED light key rings with Mickey ear stickers attached to them (and of course a personalized cruise magnet).

The kiddos are getting a goody bag with bubbles, magnets, glow sticks, and candy (and yes of course, a personalized cruise magnet).

The plan is to deliver the letters I made yesterday to each stateroom on the first day, first thing when everyone hangs up their Fish Extenders. Then on day 2, we will deliver all the little bags to each room.

I am so glad they are finished! Now to look ahead to packing for this week long vacay!!!!!
