His party is on Friday night at our local SportsPlex, and I decided to make his cake this year. Caleb chose the style based on pictures he had seen on the internet. He specifically asked for buttercream instead of fondant, stars instead of smoothed buttercream, and the Red Bird crashing on top of the King Pig.
This was such a fun cake to make. Who doesn't love Angry Birds???!!!! We can't wait for the party on Friday!
What?!? Amazing!!!

ReplyDeleteIm going to poke around your site some more. I would love for you share this at my Friday Link Up!
how did you get the beautiful red?
ReplyDeleteWell, my original homemade buttercream did not turn out red enough. I used a whole jar of coloring and for some reason the deepest color I could get was a deep salmon color. So this is actually store bought red, with homemade green on the bottom tier.
ReplyDeleteI am going to "try" and make my sons birthday cake this year and he wants ANGRY BIRDS...I love the cake you made. However, I need a little help. What did you use for the faces? Is that fondant? Also...I'm guessing that is 2 round cakes...one looks a bit bigger than the other. Sorry, I know maybe crazy questions, but I am NEW to making cakes!!! Any help would be awesome. Thanks!!!
DeleteThe faces are actually sugar sheets that I cut out. The top cake is two 8 inch rounds with filling in between and the bottom is two 10 inch cakes with filling in the middle. Hope that helps!
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteHow did you make the outline on the yellow beak?
