Classroom Christmas decor

At school, our professors hosted a party for the Junior class to celebrate the holidays. I was told, that in years past, there were decorations involved.

Um...sign me up!

One of our professors told me that if we were going to decorate, that we had our work cut out for us. I promptly told them that I had 5 years of experience on the PTO and was crafty enough to make this happen.

Challenge accepted.

What I didn't realize, is that we only had 2 days and that in past years, they only decorated the doors.

That's not good enough! Wouldn't you want to do a little more than that, especially if your families were going to be coming to a party in the classroom?

So I gathered up a group of classmates that were willing to help and we started throwing out ideas. We didn't really have a theme, we just each took a wall and got started....on a shoestring budget and two days.

Here is what we came up with...

We had to have a fireplace with a wreath and stockings for all...

We had to have a snowman and some snow on the windows...

We had to have a "Santa" and his reindeer...

We had to have our names in lights...

We had to decorate our professors' desk...

And we had to have a section for our kids to create some art work while we partied...

And of course, we had to have the door decorated with our professors' faces...

A tree was added, but I just didn't get a photo of it in time. You can see it peeking out in this picture.

The professors provided the cake and we all brought the snacks.

I honestly forgot to take many pictures because we were so busy meeting each other's families, showing them our labs, and eating.

But it was good to not wear scrubs, let loose a little, and enjoy time together with our families.
